Most of us hoped spring would leave a flattened curve in its wake and summer would see the world finally opening up again—like it is in countries like France and New Zealand. Instead, in the United States, we’re facing an Independence Day under lockdown and wondering whether we’ll have to choose between working and parenting in the fall.
The the uptick in COVID-19 cases in the U.S. is definitely depressing, and I won’t be eating inside a restaurant anytime soon. But I might eat outdoors at a restaurant if the establishment in question is following safety protocols (and if the numbers haven’t gotten even more crazy where I live).
In anticipation of that glorious moment, I’ve been thinking about what I might wear for such an occasion. Since I’ve worn nothing but kaftans and sweats for the past four months, I needed a new idea and I think I’ve got it: the trusty wrap dress.
