As we all begin to cautiously (some more than others) return to public spaces, it’s tough to figure out what to wear. It’s been nothing but sweats in some corners, all-day pajamas were not uncommon, and maybe most of your clothes don’t even fit anymore (or maybe I’m just projecting).

Plus, it’s looking increasingly like we’ll be sent back home any minute—I keep picturing one of those vaudeville hooks pulling us back inside one by one just as we begin basking in the sunshine.

Whether our time outside its brief or longterm, the answer to our wardrobe woes is simple: a kaftan, or a kimono, or a muumuu, take your pick, will serve you well in these uncertain times—at all times, really, but especially now.

And while these voluminous garments might seem to represent a singular, bohemian style, there are actually versions of the look for just about everyone. Scroll down for one that could even be classified as preppy, believe it or not!
